Some good ways to save money by sharing

A lot of companies offer opportunities to “share” services among family and friends, for a good way to save money for Seniors [or anyone]. Some ways work for members of the same household and others can be spread among friends that are far apart. The following are opportunities I am aware of and use myself. Others I’ve been made aware of and PLEASE, if you know of other opportunities, let me know in comments! Thank you.

Obviously if you share housing with others, then Rent and Utilities are a given. Here are some other opportunities:

BROADBAND/WIFI CONNECTION; Most providers offer fast speeds and an unlimited bandwidth. Choose a provider and plan with sufficient capacity for everyone to use.

CELL PHONE(S); Again… Most providers provide packages that allow more than one (usually at least four) phone lines on one plan for a “so-much-per-extra-line” charge that is substantially less than having four separate phone plans.

SATELLITE TV; I found that Dish Network (and I assume DirecTV) can add extra receivers/dvrs for as little as $10.00/month per receiver added on to the base package. This is a substantial savings. I don’t know whether cable carriers have a similar plan or not. You could check this out locally.

AMAZON PRIME MEMBERSHIP; Share an Amazon Prime account with up to four members of the same “Household”. Household is a catch-all term. You can share with any four people anywhere on one account. That’s four people for the same price as one. Good deal there!

COSTCO AND SAM’S CLUB; Allow for more than one person to have a card for the same account. I don’t know the specifics but will find out. I’d guess that other membership buying clubs also allow similar arrangements.

VEHICLE; There is no reason that friends can’t share a single vehicle (or perhaps two) and share the Cost of the vehicle and all expenses; Insurance, maintenance, repairs and so on.

Those are several thoughts that I know of or have heard of. I’m sure there are many more. Please, if you know of others, let me know in the Comment section of this post. Many people can benefit from the knowledge we gather here.

Thanks………….Kirk
